Summary

A Bill presented by Stuart Andrew MP to make provision for the destruction of certain property found in prisons and similar institutions.

This Bill would amend current legislation so that items smuggled into prisons such as weapons and communications technology do not need to be returned to the prisoner upon their release.  Previously, a legal loophole has meant that many prisoners have been able to reclaim items confiscated from them whilst being incarcerated, when released from prison.
